THE RESURRECTION OF OUR LORD
Matthew 6:13 b "For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen."
I. The kingdom
A. Matthew 4:17 - Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
B. Luke 23:39-43 (v.43) And He said to him, "Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in paradise."
C. Luke 24:46-47 - Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and rise again from the dead the third day; and that repentance for forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in His name.
II. The power
A. Luke 4:14 - And Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit (cf. Acts 10:38 - You know Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power...)
B. Romans 1:4 - ...who was declared the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead, according to the Spirit of holiness, Jesus Christ our Lord.
C. Acts 1:8 - but you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be my witnesses
III. The glory
A. Hebrews 1:3 - The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
B. John 17:5 - And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.
(Jesus understood His glory would come through the cross and the grave.)
C. Romans 3:22 b -24 - ...for there is no distinction; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus.
LSC - What does the word "Amen" mean?
It means that I should be assured that such petitions are acceptable to our heavenly Father, and are heard by Him; for He Himself has commanded us to pray in this manner, and has promised to hear us. Amen, Amen, that is, Yea, yea, it shall be so.
