We were begun as an independent mission congregation on May 18, 1986, to serve the community of Phelan, as well as the entire tri-community area. Our first services were held at Serrano High School, after which we moved to the Phelan Elementary School auditorium. With generous donations from two families, a building was purchased and erected on the land on Vinton Road, where it remains to this day. On September 21, 1986, we celebrated our first Baptism, Amy Elizabeth Bechtel, the child of Brian and Sally Bechtel. We are thankful and grateful to God for all the people who have played a part in both founding and sustaining the life and mission of the congregation for the past three decades.
